Ambassador to Canada participates in meeting hosted by Macdonald-Laurier Institute

Ottawa, June 25 (BNA): Washington-resident Bahraini Ambassador to Canada, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, participated in a meeting with Balkan Devlin, Director of the Transatlantic Programme and Senior Fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, as part of his official visit to Canada.
The ambassador indicated that the latest regional developments reflect the importance of strengthening relations and cooperation between Bahrain and Canada, particularly in political and economic fields to serve common interests.
The envoy commended Canada's strong partnership with the region, noting that its participation in the Combined Task Force, reflects its support for the protection of international and regional peace and security.
He stressed the importance of discussing ways to enhance cooperation in all fields within the framework of the Bahraini-Canadian relations that extend to 50 years.
Balkan Devlin congratulated the ambassador following the launch of the Canadian-Bahraini Friendship Group, adding that the Macdonald-Laurier Institute is looking forward to carrying on talks with the relevant authorities in Bahrain to discuss fields and areas of joint cooperation between the two countries.
