Iraq And Turkey Discuss The Latest Developments In The Security Situation In The Region And Efforts To Combat Terrorism
Baghdad / NINA / - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed the latest developments in the security situation in the region and efforts to combat terrorism.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein met with the Turkish Foreign Minister on the sidelines of his participation in the ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement, which is being held in Baku from 5-6 July 2023, and the two sides discussed ways to improve the prospects for bilateral cooperation and strategic coordination between the two countries regarding regional and international issues.
In this context, according to the statement, the two ministers discussed the latest developments in the security situation in the region and efforts to combat terrorism.
Hussein reaffirmed the consultation and coordination of positions between Baghdad and Ankara regarding issues of common concern, the need to remove the region from tensions, and to strengthen security and stability to get out of crises, achieve high development rates, and benefit the peoples of the region from the resources that their countries abound in.
The minister indicated that Iraq is working to hold the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in its third edition soon, which will address the issues of neighboring countries and find appropriate ways to achieve them, which are aimed at maintaining regional and international peace and security./ End
