Basra And Ahwaz Universities Discuss Prospects For Joint Scientific Cooperation
Basra / NINA /- The President of the University of Basra, Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, discussed with the Assistant President of Ahwaz University (Nishapur), Dr. Habib Haiber, the joint scientific exchange between the two universities.
The President of the University of Basra stated that he discussed with the Iranian side, in the presence of a number of deans of faculties and directors of departments, the possibility of opening new departments, as well as the issue of the university hospital, which has reached its final stages with a capacity to accommodate 500 patients, explaining: “The University of Basra lacks middle cadres with abundance the doctors ".
Shaheen expressed the desire of the University of Basra to operate the advisory center after activating the joint specialization, in addition to establishing a scientific and cultural week between the two universities and sending new doctors to the University of Ahwaz for development.
For his part, Dr. Habib Haiber said: "The University of Ahwaz (Nishapur) teaches various medical sciences, and there is a hospital within the campus, and it has received about 100 Iraqi students."
He added that "it is possible to provide any of the specializations that the University of Basra needs from teachers and doctors, according to the field of specialization in medical sciences and laboratories."
He continued: "We aspire to activate the role of the visiting professor and joint teaching, with the possibility of conducting short courses for teachers."/ End
