POSCO completes auto steel processing plant in China

June 19 (Yonhap) -- POSCO, the world's fourth-largest steelmaker, said Friday it
has completed an automotive steel processing center in China to meet rising
demand from automakers in the country.
The processing center, called POSCO-CEPC, will cut and shape 180,000 tons of
steel used for automobile production, the South Korean company said.
China, the world's third-largest automaking country, is expected to produce
around 10 million units this year. Last year, Chinese automakers produced 9.36
million vehicles.
POSCO also recently completed steel processing plants in Japan and Malaysia.
With the plant in Japan, POSCO now has 39 steel processing centers in 12 countries.
