M`SIA TO SEND 16-STRONG TEAM FOR SEAGCON CHAMPIONHSIP IN BANGKOK

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- Following gymnastics being dropped in the
Laos SEA Games in December, Malaysia will send a 16-strong team to the 2009
Southeast Asian Gymnastics Confederation (SEAGCON) championships in Bangkok in
August.

Malaysian Gymnastics Federation (MGF) honorary-secretary N. Shanmugarajah
said other countries featuring in SEAGCON 2009, which would be held from Aug 14
to 21, were hosts Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia.

He told Bernama here Friday that the names of gymnasts shortlisted for the
meet would be announced after the closing date for registration, which is on
July 15.

He added that the national men's artistic squad was currently training in
Kunming, China, while the gymrama contingent was training in St.Petersburg,
Russia.
