Sales of S. Korean LCDs bounce back to October level

SEOUL, June 19 (Yonhap) -- Sales of Korean-made liquid-crystal displays (LCD)
bounced back to a level not seen since October, a market report showed Friday.
Samsung Electronics Co., the world's largest LCD maker, and its affiliate Samsung
Mobile Display Co. sold a combined US$1.53 billion worth of LCDs in May, the
U.S.-based DisplaySearch said in the report.
It was the first time their sales surpassed $1.5 billion since October, when
their sales reached $1.6 billion.
LG Display Co., the world's second largest display maker, reported monthly sales
of $1.26 billion in May, also marking the first time the company recorded a sales
revenue of more than $1.2 billion since October, when it posted $1.3 billion in
sales.
In terms of the number of units sold, LG Display came out on top with 10.9
million units, followed by Samsung with 10.7 million units.
