Foreign Ministers Of Iraq, Egypt And Jordan Discuss Ways To Activate Joint Cooperation

Baghdad /NINA/ -The foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt and Jordan discussed ways to activate cooperation between the three countries in the economic and political fields.

 

 A joint statement issued by the ministerial meeting of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq stated: “In the context of keenness to consolidate the partnership relations that bring together the three brothers, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and within the framework of the tripartite cooperation mechanism between them, and in follow-up to the results of the tripartite summit, the last one held in Baghdad in June 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shukri, hosted the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Hussein, at the headquarters of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Egypt to the United Nations in New York on the sidelines of the high-level meetings of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

 

 The statement added that it was agreed on the importance of completing the projects proposed among them, and initiating new ideas and projects in the areas of electrical connectivity, renewable energy, communications, trade, industry, transportation, health, pharmaceutical industries, housing, and construction, as well as areas concerned with culture, tourism, youth, and sports, as well as areas of security cooperation and defensiveness.”

 

 According to the statement, the ministers also discussed the situation in the region, stressing the importance of achieving security and stability there, and touched on many issues, most notably the Palestinian issue as it is the central issue, and in the context of the importance of restoring inalienable Palestinian rights. They also discussed efforts that aim to find a solution to the Syrian crisis, especially through the efforts of the Arab Contact Group, in a way that achieves the interests of the brotherly Syrian people and ends their suffering.”

 

 The foreign ministers agreed to continue coordination among them to prepare for the next tripartite summit scheduled to be held in Cairo.”/End
