ACTA Organizes Two Training Programmes on Fighting Corruption

Doha, September 30 (QNA) - The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) in cooperation with Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA), have organized a training programme on tools and methods to prevent fraud and corruption and the role of auditors in detecting corruption.
The program touched on identifying fraud and corruption and the importance of detecting them, as well as learning about the impact of fraud and corruption on institutions. It also tackled assessing risks and internal controls, fraud detection techniques, the legal and regulatory framework for combating fraud and corruption.
The programme contained theoretical as well as practical case studies, statistics, and exercises. providing participants in the program with in-depth knowledge about the sufficient skills to identify, detect and deter various types of fraud, in addition to assessing fraud indicators in banks and financial institutions and preparing reports on that.
Relatedly, ACTA in cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), organized a training programme on advanced methods for preventing and detecting corruption.
The programme defined the role of technology in fighting corruption, the advantages and disadvantages of partnership between the public and private sectors, effective detection and prevention of corruption, and methods for rejecting corruption.
This training programme comes within the framework of the development plan pursued by the ACTA to enhance the capabilities of public officials, raise their efficiency and provide them with knowledge that promote their scientific and practical capabilities in the areas of integrity, transparency and prevention of corruption, which in whole contributes to building an important pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030, that is the human development.
