PM Calls On The EU To Take A Clear Stance To Condemn The Violations And Crimes Against Humanity That Affect The Palestinian People
Baghdad / NINA/ -Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani called on the European Union to take a clear position to condemn the violations and crimes against humanity that affect the Palestinian people.
A statement from his media office said that the Prime Minister received a phone call from the German Chancellor, Olaf Schulz, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the latest developments in the region.
During the call, Al-Sudani pointed out the importance of strengthening the partnership between Iraq and Germany, stressing the desire to proceed with it in accordance with common interests and expanding the horizons of economic and development cooperation for the benefit of the Iraqi and German peoples.
He renewed Iraq's clear position on the Palestinian issue, on the Zionist aggression against the occupied territories and the Palestinian people, and on the atrocities committed against them on its historical land.
Al-Sudani called on the German Chancellor for the European Union to take a clear stance to condemn the violations and crimes against humanity that affect the defenseless and besieged Palestinian people on their land, who are facing a human tragedy denounced by the entire world. He pointed out that the events in Gaza today represent a moral test for the international community and the great powers, and put them in front of legal and humanitarian responsibilities.
For his part, Schulz said, during the call, that his country is working towards a ceasefire, and its readiness to contribute to the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing Germany’s keenness to continue communication and dialogue in order to find a peaceful solution to the crisis and consolidate stability in the region./End
