Seoul stocks open stronger on tech gains


SEOUL, June 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks started higher Monday with
electronic firms leading the gains, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 3.51 points, or
0.25 percent to 1,386.85 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Large-cap tech shares bolstered overall gains as upbeat predictions on their
second-quarter earnings boosted investor confidence.
The local currency was trading at 1,268.9 won to the U.S dollar as of 9:15 a.m.,
down 0.4 won from Friday's close.
