Hana Bank brings in US$284 mln from overseas bond issuance
SEOUL, June 22 (Yonhap) -- South Korean lender Hana Bank said Monday it has
raised 1 billion ringgit (US$284 million) by selling bonds abroad to repay
maturing debts.
Sold in Malaysia, the notes carry an interest rate of 2.99 percent over the
London Interbank Offered Rate and mature in two and a half to three years, said
the lender affiliated with the nation's fourth-largest financial firm Hana
Financial Group Inc.
Repayment of the debts is guaranteed by the South Korean government and the money
will be used to redeem foreign debts that are coming due, it said.
