The President Of The Republic Meets With The President Of The Armenian National Assembly And Stresses The Importance Of Exchanging Experiences Between The Two Sides
Baghdad / NINA / -The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, visited today, Thursday, the headquarters of the Armenian National Assembly, and met with its president, Allen Simonyan.
A presidential statement stated: “During the meeting, developments in the political situation on the international arena were discussed, as the President of the Republic indicated the need to expand the frameworks of legal and legislative cooperation between the Iraqi and Armenian parliaments by activating communication mechanisms between the two parties.”
The statement added, "The President spoke about his meetings with the Presidents of the Republic and the Armenian ministers and the agreements and future action plans that resulted from them that serve the aspirations of the two friendly countries for development and prosperity, pointing to the state of security, political and economic stability that Iraq is experiencing, which encourages the entry of companies into the investment and construction sector."
He stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between the two sides and adopting ways to develop parliamentary and legislative work, and the necessity of supporting the work of the Iraqi-Armenian Friendship Committee.
The President of the Republic pointed out: “Iraq is a country with a history and possesses an ancient civilization that is the basis for legislation and law in the world.”
For his part, Simonyan affirmed his country's desire to expand the horizons of cooperation with Iraq to include several areas in a way that achieves the interests of the two friendly countries./End
