Deputy Premier hails solid Bahrain-UK relations

Manama, Nov. 27 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, has affirmed that the historical distinguished robust friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom are based on well-established foundations of strategic partnerships across various fields.
The Deputy Premier was speaking while receiving Alastair Long, the newly appointed UK Ambassador to Bahrain, whom he wished a happy stay in the kingdom, and every success in carrying out his diplomatic duties.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla asserted that Bahrain attaches utmost importance to enhancing its cooperation and coordination with the UK, by building on the previous joint achievements, which will benefit the two kingdoms and their peoples.
He stressed that reason and wisdom should be prioritised internationally so that peace prevails in the region and the world.
In this regard, he commended the role played by the UK, along with brotherly and friendly countries, in safeguarding and establishing global peace and stability, the pillars of sustainable development.
The two sides also reviewed the latest regional and international developments.
They also discussed issues of mutual interest, and ways to broaden bilateral cooperation.
