Large turnout at Asean para rubber meeting
(KPL) Total para rubber consumption globally is 31.5 million tons annually and 13.6 million tons per year is being used in the vehicle industry, said Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh, when he spoke during the opening ceremony of the 5th ASEAN Para Rubber Meeting inVientiane from 19 to 20 June.
Mr Bouasone said that the purpose of the meeting is to unify the various sectors, the para rubber producer associations and international and regional para rubber investors.
It is also, he added for them to exchange their experiences on para rubber production, processing, trading, marketing, and investment in the region, particularly in Laos.
Mr Bouasone said the meeting brought together para rubber experts and businessmen and this will strengthen the rubber industry.
The meeting was attended by Sitaheng Rasaphon, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, members of the diplomatic corps, and over 200 rubber representative from the ASEAN countries.
