HM King arrives in UAE to participate in COP 28
Abu Dhabi, Nov. 20 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived today at the United Arab Emirates, where he will lead Bahrain delegation at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
HM the King is participating in the conference at the invitation of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
HM was received on his arrival by HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.
On arrival, HM King Hamad made the following statement:
"We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his invitation to participate in the COP28 Conference. We would like to commend the UAE's efforts and preparations to host this international conference, providing impetus to achieve great success in addressing one of today's most pressing global challenges related to human life, livelihood, progress, and future. We hope that this global summit will result in reaching innovative and equitable solutions to climate change and its impacts.
On this occasion, we would like to express pride in the strength and development of the relations between our countries and their people, which have been consolidated over the course of history based on kinship, a shared destiny and mutual interest. We affirm our ongoing commitment to continue building on the successful efforts to develop and enhance cooperation between our two countries.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to the UAE and its leadership for their tangible efforts to strengthen international efforts to address global challenges and to harness all efforts to remedy their implications on humanity and its development process. We wish the UAE success in its endeavours."
