Roscosmos cosmonauts on board ISS congratulate Russians on Constitution Day

According to Nikolay Chub, the Constitution is "the foundation that unites our cultural, religious and ethnic diversity into a single whole"

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, who is also TASS special reporter on board the International Space Station (ISS), Nikolay Chub and Konstantin Borisov congratulated Russian citizens on Constitution Day from the ISS, according to a video message of greetings published by Roscosmos.

"Happy Constitution Day from the International Space Station!" said Kononenko as he urged every Russian national to respect the basic law of Russian statehood.

According to Chub, the Constitution is "the foundation that unites our cultural, religious and ethnic diversity into a single whole."

"Following the constitutional principles and norms lays the basis for Russia’s successful progress," said Borisov.

"Congratulations!" the three cosmonauts said in unison.

December 12 marks Constitution Day in Russia. It commemorates the adoption of the country’s existing basic law on this day in 1993.
