China invites Russian youth gymnastics teams for training
MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. The Russian men's and women's youth gymnastics teams have received an invitation to a training camp in China, Valentina Rodionenko, the senior coach of the Russian national team has told TASS.
"We have received a return invitation from the Chinese colleagues to a joint training camp," Rodionenko said. "At this point a trip by youth teams is on the agenda. Adult athletes from Russia and China, I think, can meet no earlier than after the end of the Olympic Games in Paris. As for the youth, the training event may take place in China in the spring after the end of the Russian Championships".
The Russian Gymnastics Championships will be held at the Sirius center in Sochi from March 11 to 18. Paris will be hosting the Olympics on July 26-August 11.
Kazan on November 22-25 saw a competition by the youth national gymnastics teams of Russia and China, with 14 sets of awards contested.
