“World epicenter: 20 years later”

Astana, June 24, 2009 (Khabar) - During 40 years of functioning of nuclear test ground Kazakhstan experienced 16 nuclear blasts. Their final volume exceeded 2,5 000 times the power of atomic bomb that was thrown onto Hiroshima. 20 years ago, Kazakhstani leader Nursultan Nazarbayev got over hard opposition of Moscow and decided to close Semipalatinsk nuclear test ground. There are no analogues of such decision in the world. Kazakhstani initiative of disarmament became the example for the whole world. “World epicenter: 20 years later” is the film dedicated to closing of Semipalatinsk nuclear test ground.
