RI BEATS UZBEKISTAN IN ASIA INTER-CLUB VOLLEY-BALL C'SHIP

Jakarta, June 24 (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Samator Surabaya beat AGMK from Uzbekistan in the Asia Inter-Club Volley Ball Championship in Al Nasr Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday.

Samator defeated AGMK 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-18) to be just a step away from the ninth place among 13 participants. The position is for the best team able to pass the big eight round.

The Indonesian team would meet Almaty Kazakhstan to win the position on Wednesday.

Almaty on Tuesday beat Baouchrieh Lebanon 3-1 (25-16,25-23, 26-28, 25-17).

According to the Indonesian Volley-Ball Association (PBVSI) the Indonesian team performed better on Tuesday than on Sunday when it met Boauchrieh.

The players did not make many errors and were able to minimize bad services.

Coach Li Qijuiang confirmed that the team's performance was better than it was during the match against the Lebanese club.

"It was better in the match against Uzbekistan. However they could actually play much better," he said.

With regard to the next match against Almaty he said the chance would be fifty-fifty as the Kazakhstan club was better than the club from Uzbekistan.

The Indonesian team is currently being groomed to meet the upcoming 15th Southeast Asian Games in Laos.
