Iran ranks first among Muslim countries in publishing technological articles

 Iran has ranked first among Islamic countries in publishing technological articles, according to the Iran National Science Foundation's report.

Iran published 8,609 articles in applied sciences from 2013 to 2023, while Saudi Arabia secured the second place with 7,762 articles.

The report used the number of cited articles in international patents and the number of citations received from registered patents between 2013 and 2023 as the data source. The data was extracted in December 2023 using SciVal and Scopus as the data collection tool.

According to the report, from among 20 Iranian universities, Tehran University of Medical Sciences is the most active university in applied sciences with 1,154 articles.

Out of the 8,609 technological articles written by Iranians, 83 articles have received more than 15 citations.
