Iraq Wins Two Medals In The Asian Weightlifting Championship
Baghdad / NINA /- The Iraqi weightlifting team player, Ali Ammar Yusr, weight +109 kg, won two bronze medals in the Asian Weightlifting Championship for the advanced category, the competitions of which are currently being held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.
Yusr won the first bronze medal in the Clean and jerk event after achieving 234 kg. He also won the second bronze medal in the total after achieving 425 kg, in addition to achieving fourth place in the snatch event after achieving 191 kg.
Vice President of the Iraqi Weightlifting Federation, Ismail Mawlood, said in a statement: “The weightlifter, Ali Ammar Yusr, gave a great performance in the Asian competition, even though his group includes champions at the continental level, but he was able to compete with them and impose himself among the list of the best, and win two bronze medals for Iraq, in addition to achieving 425 kg, which is an important total for the qualifying points for the Paris Olympics, not to mention his attempt to break a record.”/End
