SCOPE FOR JOINT FILM PRODUCTION BETWEEN PAKISTAN AND MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, June 25 (Bernama) -- The close similarities in cultural,
religious and social values between Malaysia and Pakistan can be an immense
scope for joint film and drama production between the film and media houses of
both countries, said Pakistan's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Lt. Gen (R) Tahir
Mahmud Qazi.

"There is a need for introducing Pakistani films in Malaysia and Malaysian
films in Pakistan, and to introduce each other's rich cultural heritage and
social aspects to the people of the two countries," he said in a statement here
Thursday.

He said this would help bring the people of the two countries closer to each
other, which in turn would translate into better political, economic business
and trade ties.

He added that Pakistani film actress turned director and producer Reema
Khan, who is on a visit to Malaysia, planned to release two of her films in
cinemas in Malaysia to introduce for the first time Pakistani films to
Malaysians.
