Seoul stocks up 0.13 pct in late morning
SEOUL, June 26 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 0.13 percent higher late
Friday morning, lifted by tech gains, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) added 1.82 point to
1,394.55 as of 11:20 a.m.
"Gains by IT shares lifted the key index thanks to the firms' upbeat earnings in
the second and third quarter," said Hwang Bin-ah, an analyst at Kyobo Securities.
Other sectors, however, traded weaker as investors remained cautious amid an
absence of any particular upward momentum, Hwang said.
The local currency was trading at 1,287.2 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20, up
1.7 won from Thursday's close.
