Ambassador to US participates in 'America's Roundtable', affirms robust Bahrain-US relations, partnership

Washington, Mar. 21 (BNA): Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Ambassador to The United States, has participated in the radio podcast, “America’s Roundtable”, co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit.


 

This week’s episode of America’s Roundtable focused on major topics, most notably the historical Bahrain-US friendship and relations, in addition to the two countries’ long-standing partnership with a strong record of economic, cultural, trade and security cooperation.


 

Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa shed light on the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, which was launched by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and enjoys the constant follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.


 

He also indicated that HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister had issued directives to commence consultations with the legislative authority, the private sector, professional institutions, and civil society organisations, to draft the Bahrain Economic Vision 2050.


 

The ambassador also affirmed that Bahrain boasts a distinguished regional and strategic location that entitles it to attract global investments and offer promising trade opportunities, stressing that the kingdom’s adoption of the “Cloud-First” policy to enhance cloud-based solutions confirms its commitment to using the latest technology in the field of governance.


 

He emphasised that the robust strategic Bahrain-US relations and partnership are the outcome of 52 years of bilateral diplomatic relations, noting that the two countries’ ties are not confined to security cooperation, but also cover trade, investment and economic opportunities.


 

Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa also referred to the agreements signed between the two countries, such as the “Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement” (C-SIPA), the pegging the kingdom’s currency to the US Dollar, and the Free Trade Agreement, in addition to the United States Trade Zone in Bahrain (USTZ), which will open soon.


 

He also highlighted Bahrain’s hosting of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet, and its active participation in joint military initiatives, which confirms the depth of the two countries’ partnership.


 

The ambassador also indicated that the American community had been present in the kingdom since the late 19th century, contributing to its institutions such as the American Mission Hospital, and schools established by American missionaries, highlighting the recent collaboration between the King Hamad American Mission Hospital and the Mayo Clinic, USA, confirming the continuity of the two countries’ partnerships.


 

Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy lauded the remarkable progress made by the kingdom in various sectors, including mainly trade, infrastructure, sustainable development, tourism, among others, which reflects the vision of HM the King and the constant follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
