HM King, Jordanian Monarch hold talks on bilateral relations, latest developments

Manama, Mar. 21 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today held a meeting with His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan, who is on a visit to the Kingdom.

 

The meeting, held at the Al-Sakhir Palace, was attended by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and National Security Advisor; His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President; Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court; Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister; and Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Affairs at the Royal Court.

 

HM King Hamad welcomed HM King Abdulla II’s visit to the kingdom.

 

The two leaders discussed the strong fraternal Bahraini-Jordanian relations, as well as ways to broaden bilateral cooperation and joint action.

 

HM King Hamad and HM King Abdulla II commended the advanced level reached by the distinguished Bahraini-Jordanian relations, stressing their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across all sectors for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

 

They also also discussed the latest developments and events of mutual interest in the regional, Arab, and international arenas, with special focus on the situation in the Middle East and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

 

In this regard, HM King Hamad reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Jordan in the face of terrorism and drug trafficking across its borders.

 

His Majesty also commended Jordan's role in defending the Palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinians in Gaza.

 

HM the King also commended the continuous diplomatic endeavours made by HM King Abdulla II at the international level, underlining Bahrain’s support for Jordan in its efforts to achieve a ceasefire, release hostages and detainees, reject forced displacement, and protect Islamic sanctities. His Majesty also praised Jordan's diligent efforts to provide humanitarian and relief aid, as well as airdrop it.

 

Later, HM King Hamad bade farewell to HM King Abdulla II, who departed the kingdom following the visit.

 

HM the King of Jordan was also seen off by Their Highnesses HM the King’s sons, senior state officials and ministers.
