Arab League Convenes Extraordinary Session on Israeli Crimes

Cairo, April 02, 2024, SPA -- The Arab League Council will hold an extraordinary meeting Wednesday upon the request of the State of Palestine, chaired by Mauritania and attended by permanent delegates.
The session will address the Arab response to the genocide and starvation crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
Arab League Assistant Secretary General Hossam Zaki stated on Tuesday that the meeting will focus on Arab and global actions in light of ongoing Israeli threats of imminent invasion of the city of Rafah. He highlighted that the city is currently home to over 1.5 million Palestinians, either displaced or inhabitants.
He further noted the Israeli occupation's obstinance and refusal to implement UN Security Council resolutions, including the most recent Resolution 2728, which calls for an immediate ceasefire during Ramadan and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Zaki also emphasized the Israeli occupation's non-compliance with the provisional measures mandated by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
