DPRK Players Prove Successful at Asian Wrestling Championship

 Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- DPRK wrestlers Kim Ji Hyang and Ro Yu Chol bagged gold medals at the 2024 Asian Wrestling Championship.
The championship, which have been held in Kyrgyzstan since April 11, bring together more than 360 men and women players selected from 20-odd countries and regions including the DPRK, China and Kazakhstan.
Kim Ji Hyang defeated her Mongolian rival 10:0 in the preliminary of the women's 53kg category on April 14 and Uzbek rival 12:2 in the quarterfinals and Vietnamese rival 8:0 in the semifinals.
In the finals she beat her Indian rival 10:0 and took the first place.
Ro Yu Chol defeated all his rivals at the men's greco-roman 55kg category on April 15 and took the first place.
Meanwhile, O Kyong Ryong placed second in the women's 55kg category, Kim Kum Hyok and Ri Kum Chol placed third in men's 57kg and 61kg categories of freestyle wrestling, Hwang Yong Ok and Yun Hyon Ju third in women's 50kg and 57kg categories and Kim Chan third in the men's greco-roman 63kg category. -0-
