Afforestation Promoted in DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 1 (KCNA) -- Youth league organizations at universities of the DPRK turn out in the afforestation campaign to turn the country into a socialist paradise thickly covered with trees.
The primary youth league committees of Pyongyang University of Architecture and Sariwon Kang Kon University of Medicine have implanted the peerlessly great men's ideas of land management and leadership exploits in students so that they can take the lead in the forest restoration.
Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry has made achievements in tree planting by telling the students the purpose of afforestation and scientific methods of planting trees.
Students of Phyongsong University of Coal Mining, Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture and Haeju Kim Jong Thae University of Education have strictly observed the technical requirements in tree planting.
The youth league organization of Wonsan University of Agriculture introduced scientific tree-planting method suited to the biological characteristics of different species of trees and the regional climatic and soil conditions to boost the rate of rooting of saplings.
Students of Wonsan Jong Jun Thaek University of Economics and Sukchon University of Agriculture planted trees of good species in forests assigned to them and are taking good care of them.
Those of Sariwon Ri Kye Sun University of Education, Nampho University of Fisheries and other universities and colleges have planted trees in a planned way to add beauty to the scenes of areas and units. -0-
