Landscaping in Full Swing in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, is pushing ahead with the landscaping work.
Officials of the Ministry of Urban Management and the horticultural sector of Pyongyang drew up a detailed landscaping plan and have pushed ahead with its implementation in order to further spruce up Pyongyang as a city in park covered with trees.
The residents and working people in Tongdaewon District planted trees with the main emphasis on raising their rooting rate while planting lots of turf plants and speeding up the work to maintain the lawn irrigation system.
Central and Hwasong districts have planted trees of good species, including zelkova, at the roadside and managed and tended flower shrubs planted in parks and pleasure grounds, thus adding beauty to the city.
Sosong and Taesong districts created noble and elegant flower beds in streets and parks while laying out peculiar ornamental sculptures made of plants fit for the surrounding circumstances.
Officials, working people and other residents in Phyongchon District, too, strive to decorate the buildings with garden plants in a formative and artistic way to highlight the natural landscape.
Tree nurseries and floricultural stations in the city make signal achievements by directing efforts to cultivating more plants of high ornamental value. -0-
