Sports Contest among Health Workers Closed

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The Eleventh Sports Contest among Public Health Workers came to a close on May 1.
Prior to the closing ceremony, sports and amusement games and tug-of-war finals took place at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.
The teams of Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital and the General Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Public Health won the tug-of-war event in the contest, divided into two groups.
The Korea General Red Cross Hospital and the General Dental Hospital under the Ministry of Public Health took the first place in total group standings.
Then followed a closing ceremony of the contest.
Present there were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Choe Tong Myong, officials and players in the field of public health, and employees of central-level hospitals and the Academy of Medical Science.
The standings of each event and total standings were announced at the closing ceremony. Rotating silk banners and trophies with prizes were awarded to the units which proved successful.
