Sports Contest of Workers Held in DPRK

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) -- The finals of the 2024 Sports Contest of Workers in Major Industrial Sectors of the DPRK took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium here on May 1, the international holiday of the working people all over the world.
Among the spectators were Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, and other senior Party and government officials, officials of ministries and national agencies and relevant units, exemplary working people and Pyongyangites.
The finals in each sports event took place.
The men's football finals between the teams of the chemical industry sector and the land and maritime transport sector revved up the festive mood.
Colorful sports and amusement games were also held.
The tug-of-war finals were held at the end of the sports contest.
The premier awarded diplomas to the team of the chemical industry sector which took the first place in the total standings of contest, the teams of the land and maritime transport sector and the railway transport sector which came second and third respectively and the units and players who proved successful in the sports events.
