Al-Mandalawi From Baku: Dialogue Between Nations Is A Basic Foundation For Overcoming Differences And Establishing Security, Peace And Development

Baghdad / NINA / -Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed: “Dialogue between nations is a basic pillar for overcoming differences and establishing security, peace and development.”

Al-Mandalawi, President of the Arab Parliamentary Union, said in a speech he delivered today, Thursday, during his participation in the Sixth Global Forum for Intercultural Dialogue, which is being held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku: “Dialogue between nations is an essential foundation for resolving and overcoming differences, and the diversity of ideas and visions contributes to enhancing paths of cooperation, coexistence, and establishing security, peace, and development.”

He added: "The role of the leaders of the legislative authorities, highlighted by formulating national legislation that contributes to instilling the values ​​of dialogue and acceptance of others, is consistent with regional and international trends, and preserves the cultural heritage to reach a state of harmony in accordance with a humanitarian vision that respects the privacy and convictions of everyone."

He stressed: “The forum has great importance as a support for the role of specialized international organizations in creating a climate of international rapprochement and coordinating international efforts towards a global legislative environment that respects cultural heritage and cultural diversity,” noting that the younger generation’s understanding of dialogue makes them play an important role in mutual cultural dialogue between nations. This role enables them to contribute to shaping new features of life and in all fields."

The head of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation called for approving the formation of a permanent committee responsible for supporting regional and international parliamentary cooperation in the field of promoting dialogue, and supporting bilateral and multilateral dialogue between countries, to discuss local experiences and legislation in the field of protecting cultural heritage, as a prelude to implementing regional and international legislation that enhances dialogue and strategic partnerships. In various fields, calling for joint action to implement international legitimacy resolutions with justice and impartiality by rejecting and condemning the repeated Zionist terrorist aggression against the countries of the region, especially Palestine and Gaza in particular.

Al-Mandalawi warned of the repercussions of the ongoing Zionist aggression against Palestine and the countries of the region, and the spread of its effects and repercussions in an uncontrollable way regionally and globally, and its threat to all foundations of stability and dialogue, stressing the need to take a clear stance to denounce everything that would threaten peace and stability, and to demand an end to the Zionist aggression in this forum and all international forums, as well as joint work to confront the multiple challenges and crises represented by food, energy, climate change, and markets.”/End
