April Economic Plans Fulfilled in Different Sectors of DPRK

 Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- Different economic sectors and units of the DPRK carried out their plans for April amid the surging spirit of all-people general advance toward greater victory.
Officials and workers in the metal and chemical industrial sectors have made signal progress in the work to strengthen the independence of the national economy in every way and step up its overall development and the production.
The April plan for electricity production was successfully fulfilled throughout the Ministry of Electric Power Industry.
The coal industrial sector carried out its April plan at 102.3 percent, the machine industrial sector successfully ensured the production of equipment necessary for various economic sectors and innovation was made at many units of the mining industrial sector.
The freight turnover plan was carried at 103.5 percent in the railway transport sector and the timber production plan at 101 percent in the forestry sector.
Various units in the building-materials industry fulfilled their April plans and the light industrial sector has striven to turn out more products favored by the people.
Officials and workers in the fishing industry made high results in fishing and seaweed production. -0-
