Malaysia’s Pavilion At KazanForum Attracts 200 Business Matching Sessions In Three Days

KAZAN (Tatarstan, Russia), May 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Pavilion at the 15th Russia-Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Economic Forum (KazanForum 2024) here successfully recorded over 200 business matching sessions over three days of operation, said the manager of the Malaysia Pavilion at the forum, Muna Tasu.

Muna, who is also the First Secretary (Agriculture) at the Agricultural Representative Office at the Malaysian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands, said Malaysian entrepreneurs' products that garnered significant attention included Salt Cola, pineapple snacks, pineapple juice, and various sambals.

"These products attracted the interest of delegations from Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan," she said when met by Bernama at the Malaysia Pavilion on Friday.

According to Muna, a total of 11 Malaysian exhibitors participated in the Malaysia Pavilion at this year's KazanForum, with eight exhibitors under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS).

She added that the Malaysia Pavilion at KazanForum this time offered various information related to the halal industry, education in Malaysia, and halal products brought by entrepreneurs for promotional purposes.

Muna stated that MAFS acted as the coordinator for Malaysia's participation in this year's KazanForum.

Other agencies involved in the Malaysia Pavilion included the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) and Education Malaysia Global Services, an agency under the Ministry of Higher Education.

The Malaysia Pavilion at KazanForum was inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Khairul Firdaus Akhbar Khan.

Also present at the inauguration ceremony was Malaysia's Ambassador to Russia, Loon-Lai Cheong.

KazanForum 2024, taking place from May 14 to 19, offers a platform for leading international economic and financial experts from the Islamic world to strengthen relations between OIC countries and Russia in the fields of economics, education, as well as culture.

In addition to Malaysia, more than 80 countries confirmed their participation in the event this year, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Turkiye, Iran, Libya, and other OIC members.
