President al-Assad visits Tehran, extends condolences to Khamenei and Mokhber on martyrdom of Raisi and Abdullahian
Tehran, SANA-President Bashar al-Assad visited Tehran on Thursday and offered condolences to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei on the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian.
President al-Assad affirmed that president Raisi had in his mind and conscience the interest of the friendly Iranian people and also carried in his heart a high position for Syria and its people, continuing the firm approach that brings together the two friendly countries and peoples.
During his meeting with Mr. Khamenei, President al-Assad said that Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian led active diplomacy between Iran and Syria and had an imprint in establishing stability in the region.
President al-Assad stressed that this painful incident will not affect Iran’s approach and support for the resistance and its support for the Palestinian people, and that the relations between Syria and Iran are strong and established to serve the peoples of the two countries as well as the stability of the entire region.
Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution thanked President al-Assad for his visit to Tehran to extend his condolences to the Iranian people.
Khamenei said that the late President Raisi played a prominent role in strengthening relations between Tehran and Damascus, and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian also had a special role in this field.
President al-Assad also met Iran’s President-designate Mohammad Mokhber, and offered him condolences on the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi and Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, stressing great confidence in the ability of Iran’s leadership and people to overcome this painful incident and continue its position and role at the regional and international levels.
Presidents al-Assad and Mokhber described as deep the strategic relations between Syria and Iran, which was based on principles of dignity, sovereignty and respect for the common interests of States and peoples, and stressed the further boosting of bilateral relations in various areas, particularly economic ones.
