Plenary Meeting of DPRK SPA Standing Committee Held
Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) -- The 31st Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on June 13.
Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.
Present there were vice-chairmen Kang Yun Sok and Kim Ho Chol, Secretary General Ko Kil Son and other members of the SPA Standing Committee.
Officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies were on hand as observers.
The plenary meeting discussed the issue of examining and adopting the bill of the DPRK on deputies to the people's assemblies at all levels, the issue of electing judges of the Central Court and people's assessors and other issues as agenda items.
There was a report on the gist of the bills deliberated at the SPA Legislation Committee.
The mission of the law on deputies to the people's assemblies at all levels is to contribute to making deputies to the SPA and regional people’s assemblies fulfill their responsibility and role as representatives of the people in the struggle to consolidate and develop the people-centered socialist system of our own style. The law specifies the working principle for the deputies to abide by during the period of the people's assemblies at all levels and the recess and the principle of ensuring the activities of deputies.
The plenary meeting studied and discussed the opinions on the bills and adopted the law of the DPRK on deputies to the people's assemblies at all levels and other laws as a decree of the SPA Standing Committee.
