Iraq and Bahrain stress the importance of intensifying efforts to end the war in Gaza and ensure that it does not expand in the region

Baghdad / NINA / - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, stressed today, Wednesday, the importance of intensifying efforts to end the war in Gaza, achieve stability, and ensure that its scope does not expand in the region.

 A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Hussein met Al-Zayani, today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit held in Washington on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the alliance, and during the meeting the two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them.

 Hussein congratulated his Bahraini counterpart on the success of the Arab Summit held in Manama last May, praising the decision of the Bahraini authorities to reopen the direct flight line to Iraq, which strengthens the official and popular relations between the two brotherly countries.

 According to the statement, the discussions also dealt with the Iraqi government’s preparations to host the 34th Arab Summit in Baghdad.

 The two sides also touched on the regional situation and the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to end this war, achieve stability, and ensure that its scope does not expand in the region./End
