Vietnam, Cambodia share trade union experience

HCM City, July 23 (VNA) – The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the National Alliance Chamber of Cambodia (NACC) are sharing experience in the development of the trade union organisations at a conference held in Ho Chi Minh City from July 22-26.

The annual event aims at strengthening the friendship and solidarity between the two nations while helping the two trade unions improve their operations to better care for and protect the legitimate rights of their workers.

On the threshold of the conference, officials of the VGCL and NACC expressed their grief over the passing of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu trong, a witted politician and eminent leader who devoted his whole life to the nation and people.

In his remarks, Standing Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour Tran Doan Trung highlighted that the VGCL and NACC have shared special relations from the Vietnam – Cambodia ties, laying a stress on the significance for the two sides to exchange experience and enhance cooperation.

During the five-day event, officials of both organisations will discuss various topics on the sustainable and time-tested friendship neighbourliness and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, and the resolutions adopted at the 13th Congress of the VGCL and the 12th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour for the 2023-2028 term.

The delegates will also look into the factors that affect trade union officials’ working motives, share experience in financial and asset inspections, pay working trips to the trade union of District 3 and that of the local healthcare sector, and visit Binh Dong communal house, a national historical and cultural relic site.

Chairman of the NACC Houth Soung, for his part, spoke highly of the annual experience sharing in the field between the two sides, hoping that they will bolster cooperation activities which have contributed to nurturing the friendship collaboration between the two countries' people, and the two trade unions in particular./.
