Efforts Made to Strengthen Material and Technical Foundation of Railway Sector

Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the railway sector of the DPRK concentrate efforts on strengthening material and technical foundations.
Officials of the Ministry of Railways put in efforts to raise the stability of train operation and maintain and reinforce railways and structures while taking steps to improve the quality of locomotive repair, rolling stock production and railway repair.
Railway bureaus in Pyongyang, Kaechon, Hamhung, etc. have worked out a substantial plan for repairing locomotives, railways and structures and push ahead with it.
Officials and workers of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex and the Wonsan Rolling Stock Factory are making innovations in repair of locomotives and manufacture of wagons while speeding up the technical updating of production processes.
The Rahung Railway Factory, the Ryongsong Bearing Factory and other units are putting spurs to the production of parts and accessories needed for repairing locomotives and wagons and enhancing the durability of rails.
Scientists and technicians in the field of railway are waging a research campaign to resolve technical problems arising in promoting the stability of railway operation and improving the quality of locomotive repair, rolling stock production and railway repair. -0-
