Volvo to recall 1,000 vehicles for faulty cooling fans

SEOUL, July 2 (Yonhap) -- Global automaker Volvo will recall 1,020 vehicles sold
in South Korea because of defective engine cooling fans, government officials
said Thursday.
Subject to the recall are four Swedish-made models produced between Feb. 18 and
Oct. 10 last year, the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said.
Defects in the fan control program may permanently halt engine cooling systems,
the ministry said.
Premier Automotive Group Korea, Volvo's local dealer, will rectify the defect on
the four models for free at its service centers starting Friday, the ministry
added.
