CRABTREE & EVELYN MALAYSIA NOT AFFECTED BY US MOVE

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Crabtree & Evelyn Ltd's action to file a
voluntary petition for reorganising under Chapter 11 in the United States will
not affect the group's operations, including affiliates in Canada, Europe,
Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

Crabtree & Evelyn Malaysia's regional manager Leong Mei Yuen said the local
operation was unaffected by the measures taken by its US counterpart as the
Malaysian company is a separate and independent entity.

"Crabtree & Evelyn is growing in Malaysia," Leong said in a statement
Thursday.

"Even in these challenging times, the operation in Malaysia is meeting its
commitments to customers with outstanding products and services," she said.
