S. Korean deputy FM to visit Africa

SEOUL, July 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Lee Yong-joon
will visit Kenya, Zimbabwe and Tunisia next week as part of Seoul's efforts to
improve relations with African nations, his ministry said Friday.
During his weeklong tour that begins on Sunday, Lee plans to hold a series of
meetings with foreign ministers or vice foreign ministers of the three nations,
it added.

"Deputy Foreign Minister Lee will have consultations with them on the pending
issues of various fields including political affairs, economy, trade, and
culture, and also exchange views on ways to cooperate on the international
stage," the ministry said in a press release.
In addition, Lee will try to publicize the second South Korea-Africa Forum, a
ministerial meeting to be held in Seoul from Nov. 24-25, according to the
ministry.
Following the three-nation tour, Lee is scheduled to preside over an annual
meeting of the heads of South Korean diplomatic missions in the Middle East in
Cairo on July 13.
