Ministry of Transport: Navigation Is Proceeding Well In Iraqi Airspace

Baghdad/NINA/ The Ministry of Transport announced today, Sunday, that Iraqi airspace is open and air traffic is proceeding smoothly, confirming that the highest standards of aviation safety and security are being ensured.

The ministry’s media office quoted Abbas Al-Baydani, Director of the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management, as saying that "air traffic is witnessing significant activity with the return of all airlines to Iraqi airspace." He pointed out that "the company has received many requests via email from international airlines in the past few days, expressing their desire to join our air navigation routes due to the safety and stability of the airspace."

He added that "the airlines that resumed landing at Baghdad International Airport include Qatar Airways, which resumed its flights yesterday, as well as Royal Jordanian, Syrian (Cham Wings, Arab Wings), Egyptian, Middle East Airlines, Saudi Flyadeal and Nas Express, the Russian airline Utair, and Air Arabia, which has never stopped flying to Baghdad. Flights from Flydubai are also ongoing."

He continued, saying, "Turkish Airlines, Santurk, and Eurowings have resumed normal operations at Erbil Airport, while Basra Airport has seen the return of Qatar Airways, Flydubai, and Turkish Airlines flights."

Regarding air traffic in Iraqi airspace, the ministry stated that "Qatar Airways, Air Arabia, Saudi Nas, Cham Wings, Syrian Airlines, Jazeera Airways, and Oman Air continue to pass through the airspace regularly. Austrian Airlines has also resumed flights to Erbil Airport, and the Omani Mazoon company is operating flights through Iraqi airspace, landing at Baghdad Airport."

The ministry reassured all users of Iraqi airspace, stating, "We continue to work to ensure the highest standards of safety and security for air navigation, ensuring the smooth and safe flow of air traffic." /End
