Bishkek hosts international conference dedicated to 300th anniversary of Maktymkulu Frag

An international scientific conference dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the classic poet and thinker of Turkmenistan Maktymkulu Fragi was held in Bishkek on Wednesday on the topic "The contribution of Maktymkulu Fragi's work to world literature".

The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kyrgyzstan and was attended by Ambassador of Turkmenistan Nuri Golliev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan Rasul Abazbek uulu, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Asein Isaev, representatives of diplomatic corps and statesman.

The participants emphasized the importance of Maktymkulu Fragi's work for the cultural ties of the Turkic peoples.

During the event, a photo exhibition, a documentary film "Remembering the Great World" shot in Kyrgyzstan was shown, and selected works of the poet were presented.

I his speech Ambassador Nuri Golliev expressed his belief that the event will strengthen the friendship between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.
