Rudkhan Castle, one of the largest and most fortified historical castles in Iran, is nestled in the lush forests of Fuman, near the village of Rudkhan. This castle, dating back to the Sassanian era, features walls extending 1,500 meters in length, along with 65 towers and battlements. Spanning an area of approximately 2.6 hectares, Rudkhan Castle includes various sections, such as entrance gates, towers, battlements, water reservoirs, and baths. Its strategic location and unique design provided comprehensive surveillance capabilities over the surrounding region. Today, the castle stands as one of the most significant tourist attractions in Gilan Province, welcoming thousands of domestic and international visitors each year who travel to explore this historical monument and enjoy the pristine nature that surrounds it.
