Minister of Municipalities and Housing Meets Qatari Counterpart

Riyadh, November 14, 2024, SPA -- Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail met with Qatari Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiya to enhance cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar in the fields of housing and urban development.
   The meeting, on the sidelines of Cityscape Global 2024, reviewed the Kingdom's experiences in the real-estate sector, including housing projects and housing supply stimulation programs that aim to meet the needs of citizens and enhance the quality of life and the ministry's efforts to create housing initiatives that achieve sustainability and keep pace with the aspirations of Saudi families.
   He also reviewed Qatar's experience in hosting the World Cup, the challenges it faced, the lessons learned from organizing the global event, and the importance of exchanging experiences and developing capabilities in organizing major events and enhancing urban infrastructure.
   They discussed experiences in developing smart cities and using modern technology in the construction sector, where both sides stressed the importance of innovation in improving the efficiency of urban projects, and how to adopt the latest technologies that contribute to developing cities and making them more efficient and sustainable.
