Qatar's Permanent Representative to UN, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Meet UN Official

New York, November 23 (QNA) - HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani and HE Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Hanzab held a meeting, at the UN headquarters in New York, with HE UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate Natalia Gherman.
Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing the partnership between the State of Qatar and the United Nations in counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in supporting programs and initiatives aimed at preventing violent extremism and addressing its root causes through sustainable development and education. The talks also explored avenues of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate, and the efforts to strengthen member states' capabilities in tackling terrorism-related challenges and combating terrorism in all its forms.
HE the Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate commended the State of Qatar's leading role in supporting initiatives to combat terrorism and its commitment to promoting international peace and security. (QNA)
