Malaysia To Host Putrajaya Festival Of Ideas Annually
PUTRAJAYA, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Higher Education Ministry Ministry (MOHE) has announced that the Putrajaya Festival of Ideas (Putrajaya FOI) will now be an annual event.
In a statement Saturday, MOHE said the decision follows Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s call to make the event a yearly affair to inspire fresh ideas, creativity and innovation among the community, citing the success of the inaugural edition.
The Putrajaya FOI 2024, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre from Wednesday until Friday, drew over 100,000 visitors.
“It also recorded participation from more than 10,000 international representatives across 105 countries,” the statement read.
MOHE highlighted that the event witnessed 97 exchange sessions or submissions of Memorandums of Understanding, Memorandums of Agreement and product launches, collectively valued at over RM100 million.
In addition, the MADANI Career Carnival offered 700 immediate job opportunities for graduates and the public, with over 5,000 applicants shortlisted for subsequent interviews.
The festival also showcased the MyIDEAS Summit, which brought together 81 distinguished guests, forum chairpersons, panellists and moderators in forums and parallel sessions, including a Royal Address and a Putrajaya FOI Talk with the Prime Minister.
