Masoud Pezeshkian and Bashar al-Assad Discuss Developments in Syria

The Syrian Presidential Office announced a phone conversation between President Bashar al-Assad and Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the latest developments in Syria.

According to Mehr News Agency, President al-Assad addressed recent security developments in the country and emphasized bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism. He stressed that recent terrorist actions in Syria aim to further significant goals, including the fragmentation of the region, destabilization of its nations, and the redrawing of the Middle East map in line with Western and American interests.

President Assad highlighted that such terrorist activities only strengthen Syria’s determination and the commitment of its military forces to eradicate terrorism from all its territories.

In response, Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, reiterated Iran’s firm opposition to any threat to Syria's unity and stability. He stated that undermining Syria’s sovereignty ultimately targets the region's peace and security. Pezeshkian also pointed to the overt involvement of the United States and the Zionist regime in destabilizing regional countries, expressing Iran’s full readiness to counter these dangerous projects.

This dialogue underscores the shared resolve of both nations to confront common regional challenges and safeguard stability.
