Lots of Hothouse Vegetables Produced in DPRK

 Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people in the field of agriculture of the DPRK have made successes in the production of greenhouse vegetables by introducing scientific cultivation technology and methods.
North Hamgyong Province has produced more 6 800 tons of vegetables in comparison with last year by introducing advanced farming techniques and making effective use of the existing capacity.
The Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm  has been equipped with tens of facilities to lay a material foundation for the vegetable production.
Chongjin and Hoeryong cities and Kyonghung County secured high-yielding varieties and introduced rational vegetable distribution and advanced cultivation methods to raise the per-hectare yield.
The Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm in South Hamgyong Province produces a large number of fruit vegetables for the people.
Tanchon City and Sinhung County applied nutrient solution suitable for all species to improve their growth conditions, and took measures to prevent damage by harmful insects.
Hanggu and Waudo districts in Nampho Municipality have introduced an efficient method of cultivating vegetables with cylindrical devices and established the food production cycle.
Pyongyang Municipality and South Phyongan Province have increased the vegetable production by using solar heat and introducing drip irrigation. -0-
